How the Course Works
Engaging self-paced lessons teach kids exciting new
skills in the context of an awesome project.
Meet the Teacher:
Aaron knew he loved teaching, but he also loved technology. So, he got a master’s degree in Technology and Education in order to do all of his favorite things at once! When he isn’t making his now-“app-solutely” infamous app puns, Aaron keeps busy designing and developing brand new Youth Digital courses.

In Server Design 1 Kids Learn:
Foundations of Java™
Kids learn Java™, the most widely-used programming language in the world, including methods, parameters, if-then and if-else statements, logical operators, variable types such as strings, booleans, and integers, instatiation and arrays.
Industry-standard Coding Skills
Kids learn to code just like the pros, using advanced techniques like commenting, debugging, auto-complete, documentation referencing, and more.
Professional Coding Software
Kids use Eclipse, a professional Integrated Development Environment, to program their server. Eclipse was used by the original developers of Minecraft® to create the game and is used widely in the industry today.
How to Customize a Real Server
Kids will write all the code to customize their own server, which can then be published to a Server Hosting site in order to play with friends they've invited.
“My 12 yr old daughter LOVED this. Her attitude towards math has completely changed from thinking it was boring and irrelevant to now understanding one of the practical applications of algebra.
"We are beyond satisfied with this course! Our daughter can't wait to move on to new challenges and other courses. Thank you, Youth Digital!"
