Lawfulness of Processing
The processing of your information is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are party. The processing of the information collected by Youth Digital is outlined below.
Information Collected By Youth Digital And Its Use
When registering for a paid class we may collect additional personal information from the adult (18 Years or older) purchasing the product including Name, Credit Card Information, Billing Address, IP address, and Browser type. Data in relation to credit card payments is processed by Shopify on a secure website linked to ours and are protected by their Shopify’s own privacy policy.
The email address, full name, and custom username collected at time of registration is used to identify a particular user in our system. This identifier gives students access to course material, bonus features, and customer support. We use the email address to notify the Parent of their registration status and login information for a Paid class, about our privacy practices, and to communicate new information about features of our courses or website, upcoming events, or maintenance impacting their student’s account and for such other purposes as described in this Privacy Policy. Parents may opt out of newsletter emails at any time. This email address appended to the custom username automatically becomes the registrant’s unique identifier in our system.
After a student has been registered, they are permitted to add and edit additional information from their Profile page, including their name, city, country, email address, profile photo, and custom “Creator Tag”. A student’s Creator Tag is the only piece of information which can be seen by other students in our system. Prior to making any Creator Tag visible, it must be manually approved by a member of Youth Digital to confirm that it contains no personally identifiable information.
When a student logs in to access their product, the date they first logged in, last logged in, and their most recently viewed activity is recorded in order to help us more efficiently provide customer service.
When a student or parent initiates contact with Youth Digital via email message or phone call we may request a username, email, name, or last name in order to identify the user’s account in our system. We collect the username or last name for the sole purpose of responding directly to a specific inquiry or problem. This identifying information is not officially logged and may be requested during each individual inquiry.
For customer support purposes Youth Digital enables students to communicate with Youth Digital via messages on their student profile. Messages will be sent periodically to a student profile in order to communicate new information about the site, and to offer support for students. Students can also use the message system to initiate contact with Youth Digital staff for the purpose of customer support. If you use the message system of the Youth Digital website and decide to disclose personally identifiable information this information can be stored by Youth Digital. Youth Digital staff will never ask for personal information other than what is required to locate a user in our system. Youth Digital will never disclose user’s personal information to a third party organization. We strongly encourage students not to disclose personal information (other than name and email address) through any communication to Youth Digital, and Youth Digital is not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to communicate about yourself. The messaging function is strictly for the purpose of student support. User initiated communication concerning topics other than those relating to their user experience may not be answered.
Youth Digital may offer various features such as, but not limited to, the Student Spotlight and Video Portal, in which students may offer video submissions of their own ideas or projects. While we monitor all content that is submitted and reject content that contains personally identifiable information, we are not responsible for the distribution of any personally identifiable information students choose to include in these submissions.
All videos on the Portal are moderated for safety and Quality. Students will receive a message when your video is approved or disapproved. All opinions in responses are those of the student who uploaded them, and not necessarily, Youth Digital.
All of the information described above, with the exception of credit card information, is stored on secure Amazon servers. We also maintain a local backup from the previous 30 days’ data, as well as redundant secure offsite backups in two separate locations.
Note to Parents
To disable video posting from your student’s account, simply send an email to [email protected] with your student’s first and last name.
If Youth Digital highlights a student submission, they may credit the student by first name only. Youth Digital will never claim a student’s work as our own. By submitting any project to us, you give us permission to use it on our website or company related communications for any lawful purpose whatsoever, without liability or royalty fees.
